about

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) and an ongoing member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT). I have a B.S. in Psychology and an MFA in Clinical Psychology. I also incorporate Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) into my approach. I’m already quite seasoned at implementing both mindfulness and a cognitive approach in therapy, and I’m confident you’ll leave our sessions with practical exercises and tools to put into practice.

Most of my clients are troubled adolescents, but I enjoy working with adults as well. Developing a trusting relationship will be important for the productive work that we do. I incorporate a cognitive approach, which allows us to look at thinking ‘errors’ and incorporate healthier perspectives.  Finally, we will incorporate mindfulness and meditation to further us along the path.

Our work in this area will be secular (not religious). The research and science surrounding mindful meditation are proving both to be highly effective in helping us relate to ourselves and others in healthier ways. This is a truly exciting approach!

Living in Los Angeles, I have had the benefit of learning from, and influenced by, some of the most well respected people in the fields of Mindfulness and Buddhist Psychology. Many of those who I consider my teachers are the people who brought Mindfulness Meditation from the East to the West and made it their life’s work to introduce it to the mainstream. I have been fortunate to be part of some of the communities in Los Angeles where Mindfulness and therapy are recognized as powerful and extremely beneficial avenues for relieving suffering and
acquiring more happiness.
